ABOUT RAMBLIN’ MAN

On July 23 and 24, 2016, there is only one place to be. Ramblin’ Man Fair is an annual music festival celebrating classic and contemporary rock, progressive rock, blues and country.

Ramblin’ Man Fair – brought to you by Spirit Of Rock – has a unique philosophy. It is a rock festival designed for rock fans by rock fans. Our aim is to create the ultimate festival experience.

Ramblin’ Man Fair has the perfect location in Mote Park in Maidstone, Kent – close to London and easily accessible from continental Europe, and surrounded by beautiful English countryside. In addition, we offer the very best in food and drink, including our own beer festival. Our accommodation includes Glamping at the Ranch in Mote Park and Camping at The Mote. And our VIP facilities include a special bar with viewing platform.

No wonder that Ramblin’ Man Fair is described by Classic Rock magazine as “the best new festival in Britain”.

The first Ramblin’ Man Fair, last summer, provided so many great memories. The Scorpions celebrating their 50th anniversary with their first UK show in more than a decade. Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Gregg Allman performing on a British stage for the final time. The Prog Stage lit up by Marillion, Camel, Anathema and Jethro Tull legend Ian Anderson. The Blues Stage graced by Bernie Marsden and Joanne Shaw Taylor. The Outlaw Country Stage rocked by Jason & The Scorchers and Shooter Jennings. And over the two days, so many other great performances – from such diverse acts as Rival Sons, Dream Theater, Saxon, Blue Oyster Cult and The Temperance Movement.

Ramblin Man Fair will take place on 23 & 24 July 2016 at Mote Park, Mote Avenue, Maidstone, Kent, ME15 7SU. The opening times are Saturday 23rd July midday to 11pm and Sunday 24th July midday to 10.30pm. Glamping at the Ranch accommodation at Mote Park and Camping at The Mote will both open at midday on Friday 22 July and close at midday on Monday 25 July. Ramblin’ Man Fair is not a camping festival and tickets provide access to the Fair only. AGE

There is no age restriction at Ramblin’ Man Fair. Tickets are free to children under the age of 12 years. All attendees under 16 years of age must be accompanied by a parent/guardian (person over 18 years of age). Parents/guardians should purchase their own tickets through the normal channel and bring under 12’s to the entrance on arrival at the Fair to be provided with complimentary access (wristband if required).

Please note proof of age may be requested which should be a passport or birth certificate. All children 12 years of age and older will require a full price ticket for the Fair. Children do not require a ticket to access Glamping at the Ranch provided they are accompanied by a parent/guardian that has purchased the accommodation and has a weekend ticket. Please note that parents or guardians are responsible for their child’s safety and welfare at all times. Please take into account that there may be elements of the festival that are not suitable for young children. Ear defenders are strongly recommended for all children as loud music can damage hearing.

ADMISSION TICKETS

Our official ticketing partners for Ramblin’ Man Fair 2016 are SEE tickets. Tickets can be bought either online or on the phone on: 0871 220 0260 (24 hours 10p minute + network extras). Tickets can also be purchased through Eventbrite, Ticketmaster, Big Green Coach and Stargreen. If you are in London and wish to purchase tickets in person, this can be done through the Stargreen Box Office.

ACCOMODATION

Ramblin’ Man Fair is held at the stunning Mote Park in the heart of Maidstone and does not include general camping. However we are delighted to provide our revamped Glamping at the Ranch accommodation packages situated in the beautiful Long Valley, an area of Mote Park that is mere minutes away from the entertainment arena. Literally a 2 minute ramble from the site, we are also offering our newly renewed Camping at The Mote providing a more traditional festival camping experience. Details of both will be released shortly on our Accommodation page.

ACCESSIBILITY

Ramblin’ Man Fair is committed to ensuring that everyone has the chance to fully enjoy the Fair, whatever their ability and so have fully reviewed our accessibility for 2016. Each person with a disability who buys a ticket may apply for a free ticket to bring a Companion/PA if you are unable to attend the festival without the aid of assistance. Please be aware that upon application you will be asked questions with regards to the disability and may be required to supply documents or letters to support you application.

Stewarded viewing platforms (unsheltered) will be provided and will be located as near to the Main Stage and the Prog in the Park Stage as is practical and safe. A Viewing Platform Wristband will be required for access to these (which will be collected as you enter the Fair) and access will be on a first come first served basis. Disabled toilets will be provided at the viewing platforms and at most toilet areas at the Fair.

Parking will be available at Mote Park for blue badge holders only (location to be provided at a later date). In summary if your application is successful and you have purchased a ticket you will receive:

  1. A free like for like ticket for a Companion/PA if you are unable to attend the festival without the aid of assistance;
  2. Viewing Platform Wristband for you and your Companion/PA granting first come first served access to the viewing platforms;

Situated near the Main Stage with views of the stage, the Fair and out to the North Downs the VIP area at Ramblin’ Man Fair, is not to be missed.

An imposing two-tier structure, this destination zone will provide maximum comfort and style for those VIP members of the Ramblin’ Family. With 2015 taking inspiration from classic rock and vintage Americana, the newly revamped VIP for 2016 will see extra benefits and features for our VIP family whilst still maintaining the atmosphere and intimacy of our inaugural year.

As a new feature for 2016, we are proud to offer early entry to the festival site along with VIP entrance lanes (exact time tbc). This allows our VIP members to meander around the site, get acclimatised and settled before the first bands grace our stages.

Acoustic Performances

We are excited to confirm that as an extra special treat for our VIP members, we will be having intimate acoustic performances from selected artists (artists will be confirmed closer to the festival) within the VIP area!

Not quite ready to call it a day after watching the mighty Whitesnake & Black Stone Cherry or just want to unwind before leaving site? Why not stay behind and have a drink at our VIP bar which will be open until late after all the headliners have left the stage.

ACCOMMODATION

Ramblin’ Man Fair is a metropolitan town centre based festival situated in Mote Park, one the UK’s most stunning town centre parks. It is not a traditional camping festival. However we have a multitude of accommodation options for you to enhance your weekend at Ramblin’ Man Fair. Choose from our Glamping at the Ranch (situated in the stunning Long Valley in Mote Park) or our Off-Site Camping at Camping at The Mote.

GLAMPING AT THE RANCH

Newly revamped for 2016, our Glamping at the Ranch options are now available with new choices coming in early 2016.

Set in the stunning Long Valley of Mote Park, mere minutes walk away from the entertainment arenas, Glamping at the Ranch includes onsite parking (a short walk from your accommodation), luxury serviced toilets, luxury hot & cold showers, gourmet food offerings, late night entertainment at The Ranch Bar and parking.

Glamping at the Ranch includes Pods, Bell Tents and Yurts with more to be added in the new year. Please note that these packages do not include a ticket and you will need to buy a separate Weekend General Admission or VIP Admission ticket for every person staying in the accommodation (children under 12 years of age do not require a ticket).

OFF-SITE – CAMPING AT THE MOTE

Whilst technically “Off-site”, Camping at the Mote is adjacent to Mote Park and literally a few minutes ramble to the entrance of the Ramblin’ Man Fair arena.

Ready for 2016, we have fully reviewed and improved our facilities at Camping at The Mote with improved serviced toilets and hot & cold shower facilities along with new campsite lockers (available to book early 2016) plus an easier booking system! Vehicles will also be parking on a separate area just a short walk from the campsite. To fully ensure that community feeling, we will not be marking out pitches but instead larger areas where you and your friends can pitch up together and meet likeminded fellow campers! We even have a new Campsite Director who will be on hand throughout the weekend.

Every member of your camping party whether in traditional tents, a caravans or motorhome need to have an admission ticket and a camping pass, however you can choose from 1-4 person passes to suit (if you are in tents, please only bring a tent suitable to the size of your party as space is very limited). Supplements are then available to select if you require parking for motorbikes / cars / caravans / motorhomes. Please note, we regrettably do not have any water or power hook ups available for Camping at The Mote. Camping at The Mote is 3 nights from Friday 22nd July – Monday 24th July.

Alternatively, if you wish to stay in Kent overnight, Ashford is a short train ride away (Ashford International is approximately 30 minutes journey with trains running up to 1.30am Saturday and 1am Sunday from Maidstone East). Hotels in Ashford including Holiday Inn, Travelodge and QHotels along with B&Bs and Boutique Guest Houses.

London is also accessible via train (approximately 1 hour journey) or coach direct from the festival site (approximately 1 hour 45 minutes journey).

TRAVELLING OPTIONS

Parking

General Park and Walk parking for cars, bikes and minibus have now been released. These can be booked for either day parking or the duration of the weekend via http://ramblinmanfair.seetickets.com/ Once booked further information will be sent out to you with your tickets.

Train Stations & Southeastern Trains

There are three train stations near to Mote Park that are all within a short walking distance:

Maidstone East (20 minute walk)
Maidstone West (23 minute walk)
Maidstone Barracks (23 minute walk)

Train services are provided by Southeastern Trains and late train timetable to London will be announced shortly. Trains running to Ashford International run until 1.30am on Saturday and 1am on the Sunday and can be booked now.

Big Green Coach

Big Green Coach are operating day return coach services on both Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th July from London Victoria Coach Station direct to Ramblin’ Man Fair. All coaches drop off and pick up directly outside the main gates and are scheduled to arrive in time for the first acts on stage and depart only after all the music has finished.

From Gatwick Airport:
Take the National Rail Gatwick Express train from Gatwick Airport Station to Victoria Station (30 minutes journey with trains running every 10 minutes) At Victoria Station take the National Rail Southeastern train to Maidstone East (55 minutes journey with trains running every 30 minutes) Total journey time approx. 1 hour 30 minutes

From Heathrow Airport:
Using the London Underground take the Piccadilly Line (eastbound) from Heathrow Station to Gloucester Park Station (36 minutes journey with trains running every 10 minutes) Change at Gloucester Park Station for the Circle or District Line(eastbound) to Victoria Station (5 minutes journey with trains running every 5 minutes) At Victoria Station take the National Rail Southeastern train to Maidstone East (55 minutes journey with trains running every 30 minutes) Total journey time approx. 1 hour 40 minutes

From Ashford International Station:
Take the National Rail train from Ashford Station to Maidstone East Station (28 minutes journey with trains running every 20 minutes)

From London St Pancras International:
Using the London Underground from Kings Cross St Pancras Station take the Victoria Line (southbound) to Victoria Station (7 minutes journey with trains running every 5 minutes) At Victoria Station take the National Rail Southeastern train to Maidstone East (55 minutes journey with trains running every 30 minutes) Total journey time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Car Share

There are many online ways to organise car shares to the Fair, including GoCarShareBlaBlaCar and Liftshare.
These help you to get in touch with others who can offer a lift or need one.

When car sharing, make sure you know the identity of the person or persons you are sharing with. Take a note of their home telephone number and leave details of the lift-share, the driver and passenger’s number(s) and home address if possible with friends and/or family. Take your mobile phone with you. If you are at all uncomfortable with any arrangements, or the condition of the vehicle being used, then make other plans. All arrangements which you make are private arrangements between you and other sharers. The Fair does not arrange lift-sharing or have any liability to or for lift sharers.
