As with the mighty Airbourne, Bullet For My Valentine is a recent and hugely welcome addition to the family (more Addams than Waltons), the award-winning, chart-topping heavyweights coming on board via Spinefarm’s close association with Search and Destroy, the label arm of Raw Power Management.
Meanwhile, in terms of Spinefarm UK, there’s (cue pyro) Rammstein, Volbeat, Skunk Anansie and (cue Dobro) The Cadillac Three…
Since releasing ‘Tennessee Mojo’ – the debut TC3 album – in 2014, Spinefarm has taken a keen interest in the rootsier side of rock (as showcased by Ramblin’ Man’s ‘Outlaw Country Stage’); we’re talkin’ about real music, played by skilled musicians with a clear set of values – musicians who aren’t afraid to strut ‘n’ solo.
Somewhere at the harder end of country or the grittier face of rock (you decide which), shot glasses are being raised in a collective and sacred salute to guitar music’s back-porch gods. It would seem rude not to get involved…
So… please join us for a chat (and a sacred salute?!) at the Spinefarm Records onsite tent; we’ll be giving out words and music relating to the label, and generally indulging in all the fun of the Fair… oh, and you may find some of the musicians on the roster making an appearance, too….
WIN A DREAM LAGUNA BIKE!
The celebrated Laguna Motorcycles will be part of Ramblin’ Man Fair this year. They will be baring their teeth in the usual no-holds-barred manner, with a full-on display of all things on two wheels and with a dazzling array of machines to drool over.
The real centrepiece, however, will be a major competition that gives you the chance to win the bike of your dreams. To be in with a chance of winning, fill out a prize-draw form, which will be handed out by the Laguna folk, then hand it in and wait.
One lucky, lucky person will be given the chance to choose any bike they want, up to the value of £15,000. That’s right: you will have the whole range of Laguna products from which to choose. Now that is what we call a prize worth having!
For full info, including how you can win a Ramblin’ Man ticket by taking a test ride, head to www.laguna.co.uk
Have you got a thirst for danger and daredevil motorbike stunts? Then Ken Fox’s Wall Of Death is something you’ll definitely want to drink in during Ramblin’ Man. This is a brand new experience for the Fair. So, what can we expect to see? A world of tricks and stunts on original Indian Scout bikes which date back to 1921, as well as go-karts and vintage Hondas! This is a combination of speed and danger that is sure to get the adrenaline pumping. The noise, the smell, the proximity of the riders to the audience (we’re talking barely six inches here!)… all of this makes the Wall Of Death one of the most enduring, unpredictable shows you can ever witness. This is the spirit of rock’n’roll on a whole new sensory level. Says leader Luke Fox: “See the Fox team thunder past performing a host of breathtaking live stunts on their Indians, as they roar up the wall towards you in a death-defying, high-octane performance that will leave you utterly awestruck and totally exhilarated.” To find out more about Ken Fox and his team in advance, head to www.originalwallofdeath.co.uk
