Saturday: Four Roses Bourbon Outlaw Country Stage: 14:00 – 14:40
Born in Brooklyn, Jessica Lynn has been hailed as ‘The New Woman In Country’ and ‘Shania’s Successor’. But if you now have preconceptions of someone who is merely following in the footsteps of la Twain, then you have no idea of what this talented young lady is all about.
In the last few years, Lynn has been the star of two major TV concert specials – ‘This Much Fun – Live From The Winery at St. George’ and ‘Jessica Lynn – Live From The Paramount Theater’ – and toured with Clint Black, Hank Williams Jnr and Keith Urban. She has also shared the stage with Loretta Lynn (no relation!).
What Jessica Lynn has is a burning depth to her music that belies her teenage years. There’s a confident dynamism to the way she performs onstage, which is matched by an ability to write songs that shows a surprising maturity and insght into life. Last year Lynn not only released her debut, self-titled EP, but also spread her wings with an encouraging first tour of Europe, in the process showing that country music is not just about sepia photos of performers in rhinestone shirts and Stetsons, but in the modern era had a street credibility that brings it right into the heart of the 21st Century.
Now, she and her band – Victoria Calamera (vocals), Steve Sterlacci (lead guitar), Steven Wright-Mark (rhythm guitar), Bob Riedel (pedal steel guitar), Joshua Carruthers (drums), Matthew Bauer (percussion) and Peter Calamera (bass) – are ready to ready to bring their glowing talents to the Outlaw Country Stage.
