Ramblin’ Man favourites Airbourne are hitting the road in October – and you’d be a fool not to catch ’em!
If Airbourne’s gonzo Main Stage appearance at last year’s Ramblin’ Man Fair wasn’t one of the highlights of your weekend, then you need yours eyes, ears and other extremities checking.
The Aussie four-piece’s headbanging’, beer chuggin’, lightin’ rig climbin’ set was pure rock’n’roll mayhem of the kind they don’t make any more – did you see Joel’s climb? 😉
Well, our buddies from Down Under have just announced a nine-date UK tour in November in support of their latest album, last year’s Ramblin’ Man-approved ‘Breaking’ Out Of Hell’. The tour kicks off on November 10 and hits Hafan y Mor, Bristol, Manchester, Nottingham, London and more. You can check out the full list of dates at http://airbournerock.com.
The band will also have a new guitarist, Matt ‘Harri’ Harrison, in tow. He replaces longtime six-stringer David Roads, who has left amicably to work for his family’s farm business (‘Plougherage’, anyone? No? OK). “Harri already fits in like a well-greased piston into a V8,” says Airbourne singer/guitarist/ringmaster Joel O’Keeffe.
Sadly, Airbourne won’t be gracing the Ramblin’ Man stage this year, but there’s still plenty of balls-out rock’n’roll for you to fill your boots with. If it’s amped-up Antipodean riffery you’re after, you do a lot worse than check out fellow Aussies Massive, who rock up to the Rising Stage on Sunday and promise to bring the same levels of OTT mayhem as Airbourne. Don’t say we haven’t warned you!
