Ramblin’ Man Rising Stage stars Dirty Thrills have released a killer Western-themed video for their brand new song Law Man.
The London rock’n’rollers have raided Clint Eastwood’s wardrobe in the clip for the track, which will appear on their forthcoming album, Heavy Living. In the finest traditions of cowboy movies, it’s the tale of a black-clad bad guy who gets his come-uppance from a bunch of feisty ladies, while the band play in the background. In fairness, we’ve not seen too many western movies that feature a cameo appearance from a London tube train, but hell, that’s just splitting hairs.
“It’s a song written about a fight for freedom, only to be struck down by the ‘Law Man’, a figure of austerity,” says singer Louis James. “Written through the eyes of a victim, a story unfolds in tragic circumstances. The song is poignant for the world and society that we live in.”
Dirty Thrills release Heavy Living, on September 15 via Frontiers. Recorded at the legendary Monnow Valley Studios in Wales, where everyone from Queen to Rush have laid down classic albums, James promises that the new album will be “in your face”. If the Rival Sons-meet-Queens Of The Stone Age grooves of Law Man are anything to go by, he’s not making that up.
Before that, the band open Ramblin’ Man’s Grooverider Stage on Saturday July 29. The Grooverider Stage, which is a brand new addition at this year’s festival due to public demand, is headlined by Rival Sons and also features appearances from Scorpion Child, The Vintage Caravan, The Kyle Gass Band, Picture Books and Lionize.
